PERSONAL INFORMATION

I was born on Christmas eve in 1979. I spent my whole childhood on a medium-sized farm, where my family has dairy cattle. The farm lies in a little community called Sysmä in the middle of eastern Finland. Since I was a child I have been a musical and a graphical person.

Nowadays I live in Helsinki with my wife. I have been running my own recordcompany called Pajula Records Ltd since 2003. It's a wide-range musichouse. We are a record company, a booking agency and a recording studio. We provide sound reproductions and audiovisual services, we have a webstore called Ekun Divari and we organize our own annual festival called Pajularock. I work as the general manager of Pajula Records Ltd. I also sing and play the guitar in two bands (RATAS and FOKKER) who's music Pajula Records releases.

As my day job (I work with Pajula mostly in the evenings) I also work in a tv-production company called Helsingin Leffa Productions (HELP). I work there as a director, cinematographer, animator, editor, sound engineer and graphic designer. You name it, I make it, heh. I've been employed in HELP also since 2003.

Besides all this I've just graduated from the Helsinki Polytechnic (spring 2008) from a degree programme in media, this making me a Bachelor of Culture and Arts (Medianomi AMK). My final project was musicvideo for my own band Ratas. It's called "Mustavalkoinen maa" and you can watch it here >>

My thesis was called "Musiikkivideo musiikin ja laululyriikan näkökulmasta". In english it's "Music video from the point of view music and lyrics". My opnion is that music videos often are just visual filling for songs, and their atmoshpere or portrayal doesn't match the music. In my final project I looked for means to co-ordinate musical and visual expression in a music video, specifically from the songs point of view. My grade from the final project was exellent (5/5).
